Aviation Seating

Supracor’s aerospace products employ Stimulite® honeycomb technology. Swiss International Airlines features Stimulite cushions in their B777 aircraft and their newly retrofitted A340’s.The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, 747-8 long range aircraft and the new 777X feature lightweight Stimulite mattresses in the crew rest areas. Additionally, Stimulite is the U.S. Military's specified ejection cushion for the F-18 Hornet fighter jets and multiple types of rotorcraft.

Give your passengers and pilots what they’ve demanded — a better, more comfortable seat. Composed of Stimulite honeycomb, these seats provide ventilated comfort in a low profile that is lightweight and durable.

Commercial Aircraft

Lightweight and uniquely comfortable, Stimulite® cushions are flying in Swiss International Airlines’ B777’s providing enhanced comfort to passengers and valuable cost savings to SWISS.

The ultimate cushioning for rest and relaxation, Stimulite crew rest mattresses are featured in Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner, 747-8 and the new 777X aircraft.

Stimulite seating and sleep surfaces redistribute pressure throughout their honeycomb matrix. Elongated hexagons with alternating thick- and thin-walled cells flex when compressed, radiating outward to surround and support the body, providing exceptional comfort and stability. A lightweight, anisotropic structure, Stimulite seating and sleep surfaces are more than 90% open space. The footprint of the cells' edges stimulates blood flow, enhancing circulation and preventing the numbness that can occur when sitting for long durations. A unique ventilation system of micro-perforated cells circulate air both horizontally and vertically to control heat and moisture. Available in a variety of soft to firm, single- and multi-layer configurations that can be customized to your specifications.

Stimulite honeycomb for aircraft seating and sleep surfaces is produced from highly resilient thermoplastic urethane, made by BASF. To learn more, click here

Business Jet Aircraft

With its unique features and benefits such as ventilation and the ability to contour to the body, Stimulite® honeycomb is bringing a new level of comfort to business jet seating. With the ability to finetune the honeycomb configuration, Stimulite can be optimized for both sitting and sleeping. In addition, Stimulite can be supplied as a stowaway mattress that is compact, lightweight and easily rolled up for storage in the aircraft. Contact us at: info@supracor.com to learn more.

Military Aircraft

Stimulite® honeycomb is the specified ejection seat cushion for the U.S. Navy's F-18 fighter jets. The Navy conducted a study to find a better cushion for their pilots who were flying more demanding long-haul missions. The study concluded that Stimulite was the best cushion for long term sitting comfort. Its unique pressure relieving properties and ventilation system are essential for pilots' comfort. Its cellular matrix stimulates blood flow to prevent the numbness and fatigue that can result while sitting during long-haul missions.

Are you a helicopter pilot looking for a more comfortable seat cushion and greater head clearance? We can help!

Supracor is developing Stimulite® honeycomb seat cushions for the helicopter industry using a revolutionary flexible form of aerospace honeycomb that is extremely lightweight.

Like structural aerospace honeycomb, Stimulite is an optimum strength-to-weight material so seat cushions made from Stimulite can be thinner than foam cushions, while providing a unique level of comfort and increased head clearance.

Stimulite contours naturally to the body and provides uniform weight distribution. The perforated honeycomb cells keep the body cooler, eliminating the discomfort caused by heat and moisture build-up common with traditional cushions. The “footprint” of the cells’ edges combined with their flexing action promotes circulation, especially important on long flights.

Compared to foam cushions, cushions made from Stimulite have a lower lifetime cost due to their thermoplastic composition. Stimulite’s sustainability and resistance to aging provides a longer cushion life requiring less frequent replacement.

Additionally, we are developing several replacement helicopter seat cushions as well as providing Stimulite in several replacement cushion kits designed and manufactured by companies who offer STCed solutions to the helicopter industry.
