Supracor debuts its Stimulite® Tension Adjustable Back at APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting

SAN JOSE, CA, February 7, 2011—Supracor debuts its new Tension Adjustable Back, featuring Stimulite honeycomb, at this year’s American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA’s) Combined Sections Meeting in New Orleans, LA.

Unlike conventional foam cushioning, Stimulite honeycomb is ventilated, allowing air to flow both horizontally and vertically to prevent heat build-up and humidity. A flexible form of aerospace honeycomb, Stimulite equalizes pressure for exceptional comfort and stability. As an added health benefit, the “footprint” of the flexible honeycomb cells stimulates blood flow to enhance circulation.

Available for both folding and rigid wheelchairs, the Stimulite back’s adjustable velcro straps ensure a custom fit and can accommodate for kyphosis or posterior pelvic tilt. Supracor’s breathable and adjustable Stimulite Lumbar Support may be used with this product for improving posture while providing additional support for the lower lumbar region.

The Stimulite Tension Adjustable Back is Medicare approved under HCPC E2611 and E2612, and available in widths from 14 to 24 inches. Both the honeycomb and removable, breathable cover are machine washable.

Supracor is the originator of fusion-bonded honeycomb technology, a flexible form of aerospace honeycomb utilized in products that promote the health and safety of people and animals. Initially applied to medical seating and sleep support surfaces for pressure sore prevention, Stimulite honeycomb is the basis of a revolutionary line of personal care products. Supracor’s Stimulite honeycomb can be found in high-performance applications such as F-18 fighter jets' ejection seats, military body armor, sports protective equipment and bumpers for amusement park rides. Sustainably made in California from advanced, eco-friendly materials, Stimulite products are 100 percent recyclable.
