Supracor, a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer, is awarded the US Department of Commerce Export Achievement Certificate and the Congressional Accommodation Certificate by Congressman Mike Honda

August 17, 2005 San Jose, CA—With US based manufacturing shrinking and exports declining, Supracor, one of the last manufacturers whose products are truly made in America, has been recognized by the US Department of Commerce for its export achievements.

“With the help of the US Commerce Department’s Commercial Service Export Assistance Center, we’re able to rapidly enter into this multibillion dollar international marketplace,” said President/CEO Curt Landi. “It’s allowing us to grow the business and in turn increase our activities to purchase more from our American vendors. The US Government’s assistance is outstanding and invaluable.”

On August 4, 2005 the United States Department of Commerce (DOC) and the United States House of Representatives recognized Supracor for its outstanding export expansion into the Japanese market and growth in Europe by awarding the company the DOC Export Achievement Certificate and the Congressional Accommodation Certificate. The Certificates were presented by Congressman Mike Honda, D-CA, at Supracor’s San Jose facility.

An engineered materials company located in the heart of California’s Silicon Valley, Supracor manufactures state-of-the-art products that help save the lives of US soldiers and prevent and heal pressure sores among wheelchair users as well as bed-ridden individuals.

Derived from the aerospace program, Supracor’s revolutionary flexible, fusion- bonded honeycomb technology is fast replacing conventional cushioning materials such as foam and gel in a wide range of innovative, cutting-edge products that promote the health and safety of people and animals.

Unique and versatile, Supracor’s honeycomb can be found in high-performance sports protective gear, bumpers for amusement park rides, bullet-proof vests, ejector seats in fighter jets, award-winning saddle and hoof pads, ventilated wheelchair cushions and hospital mattresses in addition to health and fitness products.

Founded in 1982, the company will continue to boost the economy by providing jobs and manufacturing its products in California from American-made materials.
